Argos is the #1 Ridgeback in Canada for 2007 & 2008. He is a Multiple Best in Show, Best in Specialty American and Canadian Grand Champion dog who at the age of 3 has become the top career winning ridgeback in the Canadian Kennel Club Computer Database. He has only sired one litter to date and his offspring are just entering the showring. The first (Dante)completed his Ch by going undefeated from the open dog class, best puppy all days and Best Puppy in Group as well as a Best Puppy in a hound specialty. The 2 girls are next with one almost finished (Ripley)and the other (Clio) starting in summer '09.
Utopia was the #1 female ridgeback in Canada in 2005 with very limited showing. She is a Multiple Group placing dog which is a huge accomplishment for a light wheaten girl. She has only had one litter to date and her offspring are being noticed and rewarded in the showring. The first (Kija) completed his Ch in one weekend by taking Best of Breed over specials, Best Puppy in the Hound Group every day, as well as Best Puppy in Show, Kija also has 2 majors for his US Ch in 2 weekends. The next (Tommy) at Jahina Ridgebacks, with limited showing, achieved many group placements, and climbing to the #4 Ridgeback in Canada 2008, and has a major and points toward his US Ch. Another brother (Tiko) finished his Ch easily in just a couple of shows giving his mom the Register of Merit. The next (Calvin) will be debuting in California in 2009 with ridgeback breeder Robert Russell of Parnassus Ridgebacks and we are sure that Calvin will be noticed as well.
Coso Rhodesians believes in proving our dogs with titles and cleared certified health screenings BEFORE they are even considered to be bred. Proof of all this is provided to any of our potential extended family. Because our level of commitment to the breed is so high, even though every dog is part of their family first and foremost, preference will be given to homes that will allow and encourage performance events.

Things To Know Before You Buy A Ridgeback
We receive a lot of interest in our Rhodesian Ridgebacks and attempt to provide some information about the breed and encourage you to do your homework before you buy. Education is the greatest foundation for dog ownership. Learn about all the unique characteristics of the breed and analyze your lifestyle to determine if a Ridgeback is a suitable match.
We are dedicated to producing sound healthy dogs that are raised in a loving family environment. Our breeding plans are chosen with careful consideration to the physical qualities, temperament and health of our dogs. A lot of thought and planning is put into our breeding decisions because preservation of the Ridgeback is essential for the breed's future. Our dogs must pass their health clearances. We use OFA for hips & elbows, and do certified screening for Cardiac, CERF, Thyroid and Degenerative Myelopathy. Another factor that plays an important part in good health is diet, which is why we believe in providing our dogs with a Real food diet.
Our dogs are family companions first and foremost and show, breeding, performance dogs second. All our dogs share our home. We do not believe this breed does well raised outdoors or in kennels.
Puppies are whelped and raised inside our home, are well socialized, and have their personality continually assessed in order to help match new owners with their perfect companion. Our Ridgebacks are raised with care and consistency and a lot of time is spent with our puppies contributing to their excellent temperaments.
